Markets and shops
Šeštadienio turgus
A simple, budget-friendly, practical market for better fruit, vegetables, and a calmer shopping trip.
Why go
I would come to this Saturday market for usefulness, not for the scenery. The fruit and vegetables seemed much better than in the supermarkets, prices were low, and the whole place felt less chaotic than the Sunday market.
My visit was on 2026-10-03, but the simple version is this: if you want an easier stroll between stalls while actually getting some shopping done, this place makes a lot of sense. Not exactly romantic, but definitely useful.
An easy arrival
The first impression is pretty straightforward: this is a practical market, not overly crowded, and free of that Sunday bustle that can be more tiring than fun. For me, the smaller crowd was one of the biggest advantages.
For parking, I keep it simple and leave the car by the main road, on the opposite side of the street from the market. On my visit, that was the most convenient option. If you are going for the first time, that is how I would plan it.
What is worth looking for here
For me, the main reason to come was the fruit and vegetables, because the quality seemed clearly better than in the supermarkets. If you are in La Manga and want more decent everyday produce, this is one of the strongest arguments for coming here.
Beyond food, during my visit there were clothes, a few household items, and I also saw costume jewellery and toys. They also sometimes roast chicken here. In other words, this is not just a quick stop for vegetables. You can also wander around the stalls a bit.
Prices felt friendly to me. Clothes in particular looked inexpensive, so this works not only for filling the fridge but also for picking up a simple everyday item without making your wallet nervous.
What to know before you go
Based on my 2026-10-03 visit, the market was running from 10:00 to 13:00. If you want the best selection, I would go in the morning, around 9:00-10:00. Yes, the timing is a little funny since the posted hours said from 10, but my practical advice stays the same: the earlier, the better.
One more important detail: during my visit, payment was cash only. In places like this, that can change, but I would absolutely bring cash just in case.
Who is this place best for? Anyone who would rather not rush through a supermarket, but instead spend a little time browsing, shop more cheaply, and pick up better fruit and vegetables. If you want a calm, practical Saturday morning, this is a very good choice.
Good to know
The main thing to know in advance: during my visit, payments were cash only.
